There is more info on Henry Wise Wood in the Wood family story, which is online in the Carstairs book "Beyond our Prairie Trails, V. 2 (google "ourroots Carstairs")--see page 924. It says that King George V conferred the Cross of St. Michael and St. George on Henry, in 1935. I think that's what the C.M.G. stands for on his marker inscription.
