Sidney Allsopp, II, 52, of Richmond VA, and formerly of Arthurdale, died Wednesday following surgery in a Richmond Hospital.

He was born March 27, 1920, in Tamworth, England, the son of Mary Ann (Sleney) Allsopp, of Arthurdale and the late Sidney Allsopp.

He came here in 1934. He received his bachelor's degree in music West Virginia University in 1942.

He served in the medical administration branch of the U. S. Army and spent 36 months on duty in the South Pacific.

He joined the Walter D. Moses Music Co. of Richmond in 1946 and at the time of his death he was vice president of the company.

He was a music critic for the Times-Dispatch in Richmond for 10 years and was active in music organizations in the Richmond area. He was a board member of the Music Society of Virginia Museum.

He is survived by his wife of Richmond, and one son, Sidney Allsopp III; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lawrence of Boca Raton, FL, and Miss Iris Allsopp of Arthurdale.

Burial will be in the Masontown Cemetery.
