AMPUTATION PERFORMED
Dr. J. H. Page was called into the country yesterday to amputate the right limb of W. H. Burch. The gentleman had been suffering for some time with a scrofulous disease of the knee which had become so aggravated as to demand an amputation. Mr. Burch is a farmer living at Allen in Waterloo township and has a large family. He is some fifty-seven years of age. The operation was a very painful one. But quickly and neatly performed by the doctor. The patient is at present in a low and critical position.
