Nina Borden Thomson, 83, of Syracuse, New York passed away peacefully on Friday at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Long Beach, California, and had resided in Syracuse most of her life. Nina was employed with General Electric Company and later with the Onondaga County Department of Social Services. Nina is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest W. Thomson; six sons, William, David, Robert, Richard, James, and Steven Thomson; two daughters, Polly Strife and Amy Jaynes; a brother, Richard Borden; a sister, Lou Ella Atkins; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grant Blvd. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gang Memorial Chapel, 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave. Gang Memorial Chapel 463-6161 (Published in Syracuse Post Standard on July 20, 2010)
