A member of a pioneer Elk Grove township family, Adolph Busse, Algonquin rd., collapsed at the wheel of his auto Tuesday morning and was dead of a heart attack a few minutes later. He was 67.
The Arlington Heights Fire Department inhalator squad rushed to the intersection of Golf and State rds. where Mr. Busse had managed to pull his car to the side of the road. He did not regain conscienceness however. A relative said that he had been under a doctor's care for heart trouble for some time and had quit farming some years ago for that reason.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the church where Mr. Busse worshipped all his life, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Elk Grove township. The pastor, the Rev. F. L. Gehrs will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in the St. John's cemetery.
Mr. Busse was born on his father's farm on Busse rd., also in Elk Grove township, and attended the local schools. In 1911 he married a neighborhood girl, Christine Meyer, in a ceremony at St. John's church.
The newlyweds moved onto a farm on Algonquin rd. between State and Golf rds. that Adolph's father, Henry, had purchased for them. He continued to farm the 105 acres until a few years ago.
The Busse's reared 7 children, 1 of whom was killed in action during World War II. The daughters are Mrs. Agnes Stade, Palatine; Mrs. Irene Meyer, Arlington Heights; Mrs. Esther Bonkoski, Elgin; and Mrs. Christine Friese, Schaumburg. The sons surviving are Edmund, Addison; and Norman, Arlington Heights.
Brothers surviving include: Alfred, Mt. Prospect; Emil, Elk Grove; Otto, Elk Grove; and Henry, Kankakee. Sisters are Mrs. Martha Moehling and Mrs. Gertrude Hogreve
