Dr. James A. Jones, pastor of Myers Park Presbyterian church, will conduct the rites. Pallbearers will be C. H. Gover, Dr. James W. Gibbon, Walter Lambeth, Stuart W. Cramer, John D. Shaw, Torrence E. Hemby, W. W. Akers, Jr., of Gastonia, Robert I. Dalton, and Walter Scott.
Mr. Cansler, born in Charlotte May 6, 1890, son of the late E. T. Cansler, Sr., had practiced law in Charlotte the last 38 years. He was graduated from Davidson college and the University of North Carolina. He and his brother, John S. Cansler, entered the law firm of their father here after graduation from law school and after the father's death they continued the firm.
Mr. Cansler was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Myers Park Presbyterian church, the Myers Park Country club, the Masonic order, the American Legion and Knights Templar.
In addition to his brother, he is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Joseph McLaughlin, Miss Nell Cansler, Mrs. Charles L. C. Thomas, Jr., all of Charlotte, and E. T. Cansler of Lancaster, S. C.; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Carroll of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Anne McLaughlin and C. L. C. Thomas III.
Harry and Bryant Funeral home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
