He owned and operated a barbershop here.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Walter Mattis: two sons, Johns of Mechanicsburg, RD. and Carl of Berwyn Heights, Md; a daughter Mrs. David Bolton of Millersburg RD: a brother Homer of Millersburg: two sisters, Mrs. John Hoopert of Halifax and Mrs. Ethel Richter of Waynesboro: and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home at 103 W. Main St., Rev. David R. Hauck, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
