Donald H. Klemme, 67, of 21830 Ruh Rd., Kiel, died Friday morning, May 21, 1993 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925 in Kiel, a son of the late Harry and Elsie (Voland) Klemme. He was a 1943 graduate of Kiel High School. On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Virginia Mayer at the United Church of Christ, Kiel. He was employed at the Kiel Roller Mills, Depies Feeds and Marytown Feeds until his retirement. He enjoyed weaving carpets and also working in the wood in his backyard. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, and also a member of the church men's club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four sons, Dale (Cheryl), Prairie du Chien; Charles (Kris), Plymouth; Steven (Mary) rural Kiel; and Mark, New Berlin; three daughters, Karen Criter, Minneapolis, Minn.; Peggy Klemme and Debra Coenen, both of Appleton; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Marvin (Peggy) Klemme, Beloit. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 24 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. The Rev. Claire Reiter was the officiant. Burial was in the Kiel Cemetery.
