Mrs. Lona Bell Floyd, a native of Adair County, died Sunday, September 19, in a Danville Hospital. She was 89 years old at the time of her death. Mrs. Floyd, who was a member of the Russell Springs Methodist Church, was a daughter of the late Chick and Nancy Elder Bryant and widow of William [Lincoln] Floyd.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by one son, George Floyd, Tacoma, Wash.; seven daughters, Mrs. Bertha Perkins, Louisville; Mrs. Bessie Mize, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Anna Cravens and Mrs. Ethel Frost, both of Russell Springs; Mrs. Reeda Blanton, Whites Creek, Tenn.; Mrs. Alma Wilder, Bloomington, Ill.; and Mrs. Ollie McCartey, Glendale, Ohio; three brothers, Elza Bryant, Sano, Harlin Bryant, Melvin, Ill., and Robert Bryant, Champaign, Ill. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Brother Henry Popplewell conducted the funeral services Tuesday, September 21, at the Freedom Separate Baptist Church in Adair County. Music was by the church choir. Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery, with arrangements by Rippetoe Funeral Home. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
