That honored class known as "old Texans" are thinning out every year. Among the last to go over the river was Mrs. Sallie Hensley, who died at Patterson, Waller county, yesterday. Mrs. Hensley was about 80 years of age, and the widow of Rev. Johnson Hensley, who died many years ago, the two having come to Texas before the battle of San Jacinto, April 21, 1836. Mrs. Hensley leaves a large family circle, including a daughter in Austin, the wife of a member of the staff of THE STATESMAN--Dr. A. A. McBride.
Note: The daughter in Austin was Emma Helena (nee HENSLEY), wife of Dr. Archibald A. McBRYDE (Editor of the Austin Statesman newspaper).
