Addlean Barefield Fennell, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend, went home to rest with our Lord on July 11, 2010, after a lengthy illness at the age of 69.

She was born on June 11, 1941, in Port Lavaca to the late Ennis and Henrietta Barefield.

Addlean moved to San Antonio, where she retired after working for Our Reach N/A. Ms. Fennell was a faithful member of the Dellcrest Church of Christ until her sickness prevented her from attending regularly. She enjoyed cooking for everyone.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Janice Marie Barefield Kelly of San Antonio; her two grandchildren, Gabby and Caleb, both of San Antonio; her sisters, Emmalean (L.C.) Canady of Victoria, Mary (James) Drake of Michigan, and Lessie Ann Stokes of Victoria; two brothers, Ennis Barefield of Victoria and Albert Barefield of Las Vegas, Nev.; special friends, Delores Charleston, Barbara Gable-Johnson, Rosemary Henderson, Raye Jefferson and Laura McKnight; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Fennell is preceded in death by one sister, Betty Williams, and two brothers, William and David Barefield.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Dellcrest Church of Christ in San Antonio. Burial will be at Port Lavaca Cemetery in Port Lavaca.
