O.J. "Buck" Sneed, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 86 years. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22. 2010 at the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Ok. Family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Buck was born on June 2, 1924 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, one of ten children born to the late Jonah and Iona (Bradley) Sneed. He grew up in Stillwater attending Pawnee and Quay schools, moving to Cushing in 1951. Buck worked as an insulation manager for Midland Refinery for 25 years. Buck attended the Assembly of God Church. He married Carrie Lorena Merchant on June 16, 1944, she preceded him in death. Buck married Anna M. Buster. Buck owned Buck Sneed Motor Company, where he sold many used cars. Buck's family was very important to him, he enjoyed visiting with them as often as possible. He loved spending time with his dogs. Buck is survived by his wife Anna of Cushing, son Ronnie Sneed and wife Toni of Jacksonville,Florida, daughters Deanna Carnes of Lebanon, Indiana, Marsha Freeman of Kississimie, Fl., step-children Jim Buster, John Buster, Jeanne Cooper, Jackie Wright, Joann Owens, grandchildren Lori Balcanoff, Cory Sneed, Lacy Doss, Jennifer Stewart, Blake Freeman, Kari Wehr, numerous step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous step-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephew and cousins. Buck is preceded in death by his first wife Carrie Lorena Sneed, son Kent Sneed, son-in-law Larry Carnes, brother Calvin, Virgil and Cecil Sneed, sister Chlora Schultz.
