Services for James Wilson WHARTON, 78, of Rudd, AR are set for Friday, 5 May 2000 at the Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, AR with Paul WITT and Keith ROSSON, Church of Christ ministers, officiating.

Burial will be Saturday, 6 May 2000 at the Witt Cemetery in Cooke County, TX. under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mr. WHARTON died Wednesday, 3 May 2000 at Carroll Regional Medical Center in Berryville, AR.

He was born 5 June 1921 in Soper, OK to James Allen and Mary Dicy WILLIAMS WHARTON. He was a carpenter and a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann WITT WHARTON; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Tawnya WHARTON; daughters and sons-in-law: Luann and Gary GRIGGS,Jenna and Reuben WALDRON; brothers Murry and Lois; sisters Betty GRAVES; Margaret BROOKS and Vada ROBERTS.

He was preceded in death by sons, Arlie James and Charles WHARTON; brother J. D. WHARTON and sister, Gladys HARPER.

Pallbearers are Utah VILLINES, Cotton DAVIDSON, Charles GIGGER, Calvin HODGE. Honorary pallbearers are David HOWARD, Bill GRIGG, Donnie KEE and Claude EDWARDS.
