GAINESVILLE - Funeral services for Betty Isabell Graves, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Betty passed away on Wednesday, January 17th at Medical City in Denton.

She was born on March 29, 1932 in Soper, Oklahoma to James Allen Wharton and Mary Dicy (Williams) Wharton. Betty married Darnell Graves on May 4, 1951.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Johnson and husband, Bill of Gainesville; two brothers(sons), Mike Graves and wife, Nancy of Era, and Phil Graves and wife, Jenny of Gainesville; a sister, Margaret Brooks of Angier, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three sisters in law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Wharton; husband, Darnell Graves; twin sons; and six siblings.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
