My paternal great-uncle
Charles R. Bogan passed away Nov., 20, 2009 at his home in Ashland, MO. He was 88 years old.
Mr. Bogan was born Oct. 21, 1921 in Gary, IN, the son of George and Gladys (Bristow) Bogan. He married Elizabeth A. Rigg on Oct. 31, 1941 in Valparaiso and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2006. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a life member of Porter Lodge 137 in Valparaiso. Charles and his wife owned and operated the Best Western Motel in Columbia, MO for several years.
Survivors include son, C. Lee (Bonnie) Bogan of Hager Hill, KY, daugther, Jeanette Kendall of Ashland, MO, brother Bob (Betty) Bogan of Indianapolis, brother-in-law Dave (Sandy) Antrim of Valparaiso; seven grandchildren, Jessi (Dan) Wenger, Jeff (Ashleigh) Kendall and Mitch (Lisa) VanHoose, all of Missouri, Julie (Sean) Hoefer, Glenn Bogan, Greg (Angel) Bogan, all of Indiana and Tony (Maui) Bogan of North Carolina; 12 great grandchildren.
