Ernie Brown

Ernie Brown, 62, of Medford, Ore., passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at Howard Prairie Lake while camping with family.
Ernie was the fifth son born to Dave and Fern Brown, Feb. 21, 1947 in Oregon City, Ore. He was raised in Oregon City and graduated from Oregon City High School in 1965.
He married Laura Jean Allen, his high school sweetheart, on Feb. 21, 1966. Ernie served in the U.S. Army and was in Vietnam from 1966-68. He entered the Millwright Apprenticeship Local 1857 in Portland, Ore. He competed and won the State Apprenticeship Training Program and went on to compete in the Nationals in Las Vegas.
His employment with Zinna Co. took him all over the state, his final employment was with Boise Cascade where he retired after 19 years at White City Veneer Plant.
He loved spending time with family and friends. His love of family came first and then he emulated values of his faith in God by setting an example, "to always be and do better with what you have."
