Eva was united in marriage to Claude Osborn of Centerville on October 26, 1927, and they moved to Illinois, several miles west of Chicago, until they retired in the mid-1960's. It was always Claude's dream to have a small farm, so after retirement they returned to the Centervivlle area and purchased an 80 acre farm north of Promise City, where they were visited many times over the years by their children and grandchildren. They remodeled an older home, grew corn, raised a few head of cattle, a milk cow, and even a few hogs, plus had a huge garden. They were members of the First Christian Church of Seymour, Iowa and Eva was quite active in the weekly dinners held by the Church and enjoyed by hundreds of people for so many years. Their retirement years were a pleasure for them both until Claude suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack in December 1979.
