Joe Warner was one of the first organizers of the Porter Springs Volunteer Fire Department in the late 60's or early 70's. He was the first President, working very hard to get this organization going. They first met in a small house, that has now been moved to Judge Ford's farm on FM 132.

The folks who helped him: Willie Fred Kitchen, Bennie Harris, Joe Allen, Rodell Allen, Odell Cooper, Jack Sims, William Harris, Bernice Harris and Alfredale Cooper Warner.
