Hotel Manager
Henry B. Paris, 86, a retired resident manager of the Watergate East who had lived in Washington from 1938 to 1966, died of cancer Feb. 26 at his home in St. Augustine, Fla.
Mr. Paris, who was born in Georgia, attended LaSalle University. He was a manager in Washington at the Carlton Hotel from 1938 to 1947, the Wardman Park from 1947 to 1951, the Woodner from 1951 to 1961 and the Watergate in 1965 and 1966. From 1961 to 1965, he was sales and promotion manager with the Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.
His first wife, Evelyn Paris, died in 1959.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruby Owen, of St. Augustine; five children by his first marriage, Henry Jr., of Reston, Charles David Paris of Olney, Sabra Smith of Columbia, Suzanne Coble of Memphis and Elizabeth Bissett of Gaithersburg; and three stepchildren, Elaine DeVol of Washington, James Emerson of Millersville, Md., and Mike Emerson of St. Augustine.
