Ed Allen visited the old Allen grave yard near Dot, KY., on 11/14/98. The cemetery was quickly going to waste. It was apparent that little maintenance had been performed during the better part of 50 years. Graves were caving in, often with the markers following them into the hole, bursh and other undergrowth in the middle of this forest were taking their toll on the few markers that remained. Based on the number of unmarked grave sites, Ed estimated there were probably 50 graves in the cemetery. There were only 15 to 20 sites with marked headstones.

Cemetery list copied in April 1955 by Mrs. Jesse L. Riley Sr., and Mrs. J. Wells Vick, partial listing in 1977 by Pamela King, Olmstead Folklore Class, corrections June 1999 by Judy Lyne, A.B. & Phyllis Willhite. The list contains the following names as buried here with stones, as listed by Ed Allen:

Allen, James Jonas, 1807-1863
Allen, Nancy Willson, 1814-1863
