STILLWATER, Minn.— Beverly Van Nuys Ham passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Stillwater, Minn.

Born Oct. 6, 1938, to Guy and Elnora Van Nice, Beverly graduated from Rapid City (S.D.) High School in 1956.
She attended South Dakota State University at Brookings prior to her marriage to Eardley Ham on Sept. 6, 1957. In 1964 Beverly, her husband and their two children moved to Minnesota where most of the family resides today.
Beverly, juggling family and job, returned to college and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College Of Saint Catherine's in May of 1985.
Not satisfied, within a few years she and Eardley moved to Mankato MN, where she completed her education with a Master Of Arts degree in Information Science from Mankato State University while Eardley completed his undergraduate and graduate work.
Beverly and Eardley then moved to Sidney, Neb., for three years where she contracted to write the ISO 9000 documentation for Prestolite Wire Corp.

Returning at last to the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie, Beverly, now semi-retired due to the onset of her illness, spent her time working part time, enjoying her grandchildren, traveling with Eardley and writing for magazine publications until her condition necessitated a move to a care facility.
Vibrant and outgoing, always smiling, Beverly was a devoted mother, loving wife and good friend to all she knew.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Eardley of Woodbury; her son, Charles (Lorrie) of Mound; two daughters, Jennifer (Doug) White of Las Vegas, and Elizabeth (Chris) Mau of Oakdale; six grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Dobbs of New Berlin, Conn., and Nancy Holtet of Rapid City; and a brother, Randall Van Nice of North Canton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

At Beverly's request, her body was cremated. No service will be held at this time, but a remembrance gathering is planned for sometime this fall at Sylvan Lake, S.D.

The family has designated The Good Samaritan Society, 1119 Owens Street N., Stillwater, MN 55082-4399 or an organization of your choice for memorials.
