Billy Morris Rogers, 81, of Wortham, passed away July 12, 2010 in Wortham. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Porter Chapel Wortham with Reverend Rickey Missildine and Brother James Harrington officiating. Interment will be at Wortham Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at Porter Chapel Wortham.
Billy was born May 21, 1929 in Streetman, Texas to Earnest Estel and Mary Ila Cate Rogers. He was retired from the state and was most well known for buying, selling and trading almost anything. He loved horses and mules. Billy was a Christian man and loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Estel and Mary Ila Cate Rogers; brother, Estel Glynn Rogers and sister, Mary Idell Cowart.
Billy is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Leila Muriel Rogers of Wortham; sons, Billy Rogers and Randy Rogers both of Wortham; grandsons, Jacob Rogers, Chase Rogers and Rypin Rogers; granddaughter, Hayley Rogers; great grandsons, Christopher Rogers and Hunter Rogers; great granddaughter, Lindsey Rogers; sisgers, Eva Miller and Edna Frances Zuber and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
