The spelling of Helen's maiden name is at issue. The family spells it Erikson but some records show it as Ericson.

Helen was born the daughter of August and Charlotte Erikson. She married Roy Leslie Duncan and had one son, Roy Leslie Duncan.

During her life, she served as the Director of Public Welfare in West Hartford.

She was age 101 at her passing, while residing at the Salmonbrook Convalescent Home in Glastonbury. Her cause of death was listed as cardiac arrhythmia.

I did not know her well, and retain childhood memories of meeting her on several occasions. What stays with me is the feeling she gave off, a regal presence, effortless class. I remember too that she gave me a small ring once, a dark blue stone with a tiny baguette on each side. The center stone was chipped, but it was my first "adult" ring with a real stone, so I was thrilled and wore it many years, remembering the surprise of receiving it.
