NEHEMIAH, 7th & last known child of John & Susanna Hayden, was born at Braintree 14 February 1647[8]. He married at Braintree [blank] March 1678[/9] Hannah Neale. Source: Anderson's Great Migration Begins.

John Hayden and Susannah Pullen are his parents. The birthplace of his parents has never been proven, however it is assumed the migrated from England. On May 1678 he married Hannah Neale,daughter of Henry Neale and Hannah Pray.All their children were born in Braintree, Norfolk, MA.

"II) Nehemiah Hayden, son of John Hayden, was born at Braintree, Massachusetts, February 14, 1647-48, died January 12, 1717-18. He was a prominent and influential citizen of Braintree and served as selectman ten years, 1706-16, and on important town committees. He and his wife were members of the Middle Precinct church at the time of Mr. Niles' ordination in 1711. His will was dated January 6, 1717-18, and proved February 28, 1717-18, mentioning all the children except Mary. He married Hannah Neale, daughter of Henry Neale. Children: Nehemiah, born May. 1680; Hannah, July 18, 1681; Mary, married Samuel Hayden; Samuel; Benjamin, mentioned below; Rachel, married Samuel Paine; John; Ebenezer; Jonathan."

Married Mar. 1678, Hannah Neale, born near 1658, died buried Jul. 25, 1741 (Ch. Rec.), dau. of Henry & Hannah (Pray) Neale.

Nehemiah Hayden Sr. admitted to full communion Oct.7, 1697, Hannah, his wife, Mar. 30, 1690, and then children Nehemiah, Samuel, Benjamin, John, Anna & Mary bapt. Oct.4, 1691. He was selectman 1706-1716. He was elected surveyor of highways 1693, tithingman 1696, surveyor for Monatiquot 1750, selectman 1706 to 1713 inc., 1716, moderator 1717. Resided on Washington St., Braintree, west side, north of West St. until before 1700 when he went to Pond St. east of Town St. He was in King Philip's War 1675 (Reg. Vol. 37).

Eldest son Nehemiah land bounded by Nath'l Thayer, the Frenches & so on the Pond, 4a. swamp at Frenches Swamp, 8a. woodland bounded by Josiah Hobart & John Ruggles, Ebenezer Thayer & my own land. To son Samuel 1/2 of house he lives in and 30a. land adjoining. To son Benjamin my dwelling house & all lands adjoining, he to pay out of it £20 to dau. Rachel Payne, & my son in law Samuel Hayden. To son John house he lives in & 25a. land adjoining. To son Ebenezer £100 out of land I bought of Samuel Sewall lying at the head of Little Pond. To son Jonathan, same. All rest of lands to be divided between sons, daughter Hannah Stevens. Wife Hannah & eldest son Nehemiah executors. Wit: Josiah Faxon, Benj. Hobart, Joseph Parmenter.
