Married December 22, 1719, Sarah Copeland, born Dec. 23, 1700, died (alive 1762), daughter of Thomas & Mary (Arnold) Copeland.
He was an early settler in the South Precinct where he had a large farm, his first homestead being on the eastern end of the tract on North Street opposite Central Cemetery, and later at the western end of North Main Street, north of Pleasant Square.
He was elected constable 1737 but refused to serve, surveyor of highways for South Precinct 1739, deereave 1741, tithingman 1741 & 1747, surveyor of highways 1748, 1750.
He & Sarah had the following children, all born in Braintree and baptized at Middle Parish Church:

2. Hannah, Dec.4, 1724 (bapt. Feb. 7, 1724/5)
