of Frederick Hartman, who was born
in Atchison and lived here all her
life,died yesterday at 12:20p.m., at
the Atchison hospital, following a long
painful illness, which kept her bed-fast
for nine weeks. It was last June when
Mrs. Hartman's health began to fall. She
had a severe attack of influenza, and
abscesses formed on her lungs, which
were the immediate cause of her death.
The five weeks she was sick in bed at
the home of her sister, Mrs. William
Carlisle, and a month ago, when the
attending physician decided it was best
to have a tube inserted, she was taken
to the Atchison hospital, where death
came yesterday. Everything that money,
nursing, and skill could do to save her
was used, but to no avail.

late Captain and Mrs. David Baker,
and was born at the Baker home on
South Seventh street, January 28,
1883. Her marriage to Frederick C.
Hartman took place January 15,1910,
and when their son, Frederick Baker
Hartman, now 11 years of age, was a
little boy, Mr. Hartman died. Mrs.

mother and much beloved. Besides her
son she is survived by four sisters
and two brothers: Mrs. William Carlisle,
Atchison; Mrs. Oliver Munson, Hill City;
Mrs. Lee Leland, Saugatuck,Mich; Miss
Estello Baker, Chicago; Dave Baker,
