INDIAN TRAIL Robbie Joy Lewis, 50, departed this life on June 13, 2007 at her home in Indian Trail. kind heart, love of her family and giving spirit will be missed by all that had the privilege to have met her. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, she attended Columbus High School and Columbus College. She and family have lived in Indian Trail since 2001.
Her chosen profession was as a Teacher Assistant at Shiloh Elementary, after many years in the same role at Kemp Elementary in Hampton, Georgia. She had a passion for working with kindergarten children, teaching with hugs, and helping them grow to first grade students. She always went to great effort to celebrate the completion of their first year with a very special graduation ceremony. Robbie loved her family with all of her heart and was most proud of her 26 year marriage to husband Roy. Their chance meeting on a beach in Florida during Spring Break led to a lifetime of cherished memories and the joining of their souls forever.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Lewis; daughter, Heather Karriker; mother Joyce Bond, all of Indian Trail; and brother Edward Single- ton of Ellerslie, Georgia. She will be deeply missed by her extended family that she cared for so much. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Heritage Wedding- ton Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC 28104. The family will receive friends immedi- ately following the service, and respectfully requests that dona- tions in lieu of flowers be made to the Robbie Lewis Scholarship Fund, Shiloh Elementary School or the American Heart Association. Heritage Funeral Homes and Cremation Services Wedding- is assisting the family.
