IDA MORGAN MERCER, passed away, Sunday Janurary 6, 1980, being 89 years, 8 months and 21 days of age. She was born April 16, 1890 at Slickford, KY, to the late WILLIAM R.and REBECCA HAYNES MORGAN, being the eldest of 8 Children. After her early education in Wayne CO., she attended and graduacted from the "Lexington Business College", in Lexington, KY. She received her AB and Masters in Education. She taught in Wayne CO., Schools for 47 Years. She was united in Marriage to OWEN MERCER, a Retired Master Sargeant and a Veteran of the Spanish-American War, on October 21, 1925. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1968. She was preceded in death by 4 Brothers and 1 Sister, LAWRENCE MORGAN, RAY MORGAN, NOBLE MORGAN, HUBERT MORGAN, and LILA MORGAN WILLIAMS. She is survivied by 2 Sisters, MYRTLE MORGAN KOGER, and HATTIE MORGAN STOKELY, both of Monticello, KY She is Buried in Elk Spring Cemetery, in Wayne CO., KY.
