Mrs. Gladys E. Terry, age 68, of Route 5, Bobo Road, Dallas, Georgia, died on Monday, April 4, 1983 at the Hillhaven Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center, Marietta, Georgia. In declining health for approximately eight months.
Mrs. Terry was born in Gwinnett County, Georgia on October 9, 1915, the daughter of James Etheridge and the late Lula Carlisle Etherdige. She was a member of the welcome Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia. She and her husband, Marvin A. Terry, had been married for 49 years. They had lived on route 5, Dallas for the past 7-1/2 years. Mrs. Terry was a home-maker and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Marvin A. Terry, Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. James (Jerri) Morrison, Dallas; two sons, Mr. Gene Terry, Dallas and Mr. Richard Terry, Powder Springs; two grandsons, Mr. Jimmy Morrison, Dallas and Mr. Jeff Terry, Powder Springs; sister, Mrs. R.J. (Nellie) Gazaway, Monticello, Georgia; four brothers, Mr. James Etheridge, Mr. Cleo Etheridge and Mr. Clifford Etheridge, all of Atlanta and Mr. Winifred Etheridge, Austell, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 6 1983 at 2 o'clock from the Benson's Magnolia Hill Chapel with Reverend Robert Hulsey and Reverend C.H. Simpson officiating. Active Pallbearers were William J. Gazaway, Joey Etheridge, Steven Etheridge, Vernon Etheridge, Michael Irvin and Bryant Etheridge.
Interment was in the Crossroads Baptist Church cemetery with the Benson Funeral Home, Dallas Georgia, in charge of the arrangements.
