Louis R. Frank, 96, of Mercer Road, New Castle, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born October 25, 1913 in New Castle, a son of the late Arsenio and Philomena (Capacano) Frank. He was married to Jean E. (Coulter) Frank who died on November 4, 2001. Mr. Frank was a safetyman for Rockwell Spring retiring after 32 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving stateside. He was a member of the Christian Assembly Church in Erie, PA and enjoyed golfing and playing the PA Lottery. He had a severe heart attack in 1980 and was rushed to Emergency at the Jameson Hospital. He survived and it changed his life. He watched his diet from that point on and lived until 2010.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Andy, Tony, and Joe Frank, and six sisters, Rose Bloise, Elizabeth Marmo, Mary Taylor, Nellie Jetto, Antonia Carbone, and Julia Laita. He has no known children.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, July 15, 2010, from 11 am to 12 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 12:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. David Frank of Christian Assembly Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home.
