Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian church at Coggon with the Rev. Hugh Ghormley and the Rev. Gary Keast officiating. Burial will be made in the Golden cemetery near Ryan. The Murdoch funeral home is in charge of arrangements where friends may call.
He was born Nov. 28, 1880, in Delaware county, a son of Joseph and Matilda (Corell) Orr. On Oct. 25, 1911, he was married to Edith Haigh at Hopkinton.
Mr. Orr farmed in Delaware county all his life until his retirement. He was a member of the Buck Creek school board when the school was built. He was an elder an deacon of the First Christian church of Coggon and served on the cemetery board of the Golden cemetery.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Marion (Emily) Marolf of Alburnett, Miss June Orr of Aurora, IL, and Mrs. Day (Donna) Welterlen of Edgewood; two sons, Joseph of Manchester and Frank of Coggon; seventeen grandchildren; Mrs. Andrew (Tillie) Wilson of Mediapolis, and one brother, Charles of Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Orr also made homes for five foster children who are all deceased except for Lyle Cassel of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Everett.
The family suggests, friends may if they wish, contribute to a memorial fund.
