Joseph Thomas Berta (Sr) was born at Braidwood, Will Co, Illinois on May 5, 1896, the son of Dominic (Domenico) and Louisa (nee Cerutti) Berta, immigrants from the village of Prascorsano (aka Sparcuson) in the Italian Piedmont. Mr. Berta was residing on Howard Gap Road, Tryon, Polk Co, North Carolina, at the time of his death. He was predeceased by his wife, Daisy (nee Shambo) in 1956. Joseph (Sr) and Daisy had two sons, Joseph (Jr) and Robert William Berta. Their son, Robert W. Berta, a resident of Old Mill Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was the informant for his father, Joseph Berta's death certificate.
