She was a lineal descendant of Colonel Ninian Beall.

She was the daughter of George W. Hopkins and Eliza Beall Hopkins.
On September 10, 1875 as Lizzie B. Hopkins, she married Thomas J. Luttrell in the District of Columbia.
They were the parents of two daughters.
Their eldest daughter was Mary Luttrell who on June 17, 1907 married Rev. William Samuel Bishop.

Marriage
Yesterday morning St. John's Church, Georgetown, was crowded with the friends of the parties to witness the marriage or Captain T.J. Luttrell, of the firm of Luttrell & Wine and Miss Lizzie B. Hopkins. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Atkins, rector of the church, in a most Impressive manner, at the conclusion of which the friends repaired to the residence of the bride's parents and partook of a collation. The bridal party left on the 11:45 train for a trip North. At the church Messrs. M.C Luttrell, Stephen EIlery and William Dove acted as ushers to the satisfaction of the large party in attendance.
