Miscellaneous Paragraphs of Local Interest
Mr. George W. Hopkins, who was sworn as a juror in the case of John Green, for offering a false recognance of bail on the 13th instant and who was taken ill on the night of the 16th instant of neuralgia, died at an early hour yesterday morning, at his residence on Connecticut Avenue, above P Street. Mr. Hopkins was an old resident of Washington and carried on the brickmaking business in the neighborhood of his residence for many years.

Hopkins. On the 22d instant, Mr. G.W. Hopkins, in the 65th year of his age. The funeral will take place from his late residence, No. 1617 Connecticut Avenue, on Friday, the 24th instant, at 11 o’clock AM. The friends of the family are requested to attend.

Death of an Ex-Juror in the Case
George W. Hopkins, proprietor of the well-known brickyard near Senator Stewart’s mansion, died at an early hour this morning at his residence on Connecticut Avenue. He was summoned as a juror in the Green case in the Criminal Court and retained his position in the box until the 16th instant, when an attack of neuralgia prevented his attendance and after waiting for him a few days the jury was discharged and a new one sworn.
