Jesse Elmer Dorman, second son of James and Jane Dorman, was born Aug. 5, 1868, at Platteville, Wisconsin, and departed this life early Tuesday morning, August 24, 1937, at the age of 69 years and 19 days.

At the age of two years he came with his parents to Kansas, where together they braved the dangers of pioneer life. He lived the rest of his life in and around Cuba, Kansas.

On August 3, 1890, he was united in marriage to Maggie E. Gray. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive except, Ethel Jane, who passed away March 12, 1922.

He converted in 1912 and lived a consistent Christian life until the time of his departure from this world to his Heavenly home.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, who dearly loved and tenderly cared for his family and who displayed the Christian spirit in the community in which he lived and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mrs. Maggie Dorman; one son, Ralph Dorman of Haddam; three daughters, Mrs. Iva Harding of Dorchester, Nebr.; Mrs. Myrtle McCracken, of Belleville, Kansas; Mrs. Grace Kolman of Narka, Kansas; one brother, Arch Dorman of Belleville, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Stella Dean of Santa Clara, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Mill Creek Friends Church by Rev. Earl L Sites, pastor of the Fruit Hill United Brethren church. Burial was in the Hawks Cemetery.
