Virginia's Brother, William C. Barnard
Daughter of Joshua Cooper Barnard and Arcada Elizabeth Handlin she married William Isaac Long April 2, 1871 in Mound City, Linn County, Kansas. She is the mother of eight children Clarence Victor, Aaron A.,Ira Alva,Edward J.,Delmer,Clinton E.,Earl Alson,and Harry Weaver.
She and William Isaac came by wagon train to Oklahoma in 1892. There were four families and 6 wagons. Since theirs was the only one carrying a cook stove she was camp cook and from the accounts a very good one.
She was a strong woman an bore so much heartache losing a three month old son, Ira Alva, in Kansas and then her husband and two sons to Smallpox within one month in 1889.
