Eunice Johnson, 96, of Pelican Rapids, died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Eunice Elizabeth Waller was born June 8, 1912, in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Syver and Hannah (Svare) Waller. She was baptized and confirmed at Ringsaker Lutheran Church, in Pelican Rapids.
After Eunice graduated from Pelican Rapids High School, she attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, N.D. She was employed at Swan Drug in Pelican Rapids.
On Aug. 28, 1941, Eunice married Martin Johnson in Pelican Rapids.
Martin died in 1978.
As a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Eunice was involved in many areas, including ladies circle and aid, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School. She was active in Community Club, VFW Auxiliary and was a Boy Scout leader. She enjoyed bridge club.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; six sisters: Margaret Everett, Ruby O'Connell, Hardis Waller, Elsie Anderson, Kathryn Waller, Jane Johnson; three brothers, Harold Waller, Ralph Waller, John "Petie" Waller.
