Ralph Waller, former resident of Pelican Rapids, died unexpectedly at his home in Fargo Wednesday, Feb. 23.
Mr. Waller, an employee of the Union Storage and Refrigeration Co., had been ill several days. A friend, Paul Melhus, visited him early Wednesday evening and suggested that he enter a hospital but Ralph decided to remain at home. When he called again on Thursday morning he found him dead near the stairway, apparently as he wa» about to retire. R. J. Yoder, coroner, said death was due to a heart attack and had occurred about 9 p. m. Wednesday. Mrs. Waller and their two children were in Aberdeen, S.D., where she had been called by the illness of her father.
Ralph Waller was born on Fab. 27, 1910. He was baptized and confirmed in the Ringsaker church. In 1948 he was married to Berniece Gunderson. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o'clock from the Ringsaker church, Rev. H. W. Estrem oficiating. Miss Hazel Maasjo of Fergus Falls sang two songs, "Lead Kindly Light" and "Den Store Hvide Flok." He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Ringsaker cemetery.
Relatives and friends from this vicinity also from Ashby, Fergus Falls and Aberdeen, S. D. were in attendance.
Pallbearers were Ed. Grunewald, Dr. C. B. Erickson, Paul Melhus, John Eppler, Alf Anderson and Arthur Hovland.
