"William Schaefer, 88, died of a heart ailment Monday morning at the home of his nephew, William L. Cox of Poland. He had been ill for several years. Born in Green township, May 28, 1875, he was a son of Jacob and Caroline Cook Schaefer, and was a life resident of Mahoning county. A retired carpenter, he had lived in Poland only a few weeks, coming from Youngstown. His wife, the former Ada Collar whom he married in 1901, passed away in 1960. Funeral services, with the Rev. Robert Palisin officiating, were held Thursday afternoon at the Williams Funeral Home in Canfield, and burial made in the Canfield cemetery."
