MADISON-An accident In the Horseshoe Coal Co. mine in Drawdy, Boone County, yesterday took the life of Clarence W. Burgess. 47. of Bias Branch. Burgess was pinned between a motor car and an overhead beam and was killed instantly.

Ruby; two sons, Clarence Dale and Charles David, both at home; a stepson, Jack Holt of Bias Branch; five daughters, Martha Jane and Karen Ann. at home, Mrs. Frank Darling, Mrs. Mary Lehman and Mrs. Larry Lehman, all of Muncie, Ind.; his father, Henry Burgess of Bias Branch; four brothers, Leander of Cleveland, O., James Alfred of St. Albans, Roy and Noah, both of Bias Branch; six sisters. Mrs. Hicinth Elkins of Huntington, Mrs. Albert White of Gordon. Mrs. Claude Wilson and Mrs. Tom Dotson, both of Ramage, Mrs. Red Morris of Germany and Mrs. Cecil Adkins of Springs Lake, N. C.; and 13 grandchildren.
