MRS. JANE KRAMER DEAD.
________
Mother of Mrs. George Hardy
and Mrs. C. E. Griffith, of Walker,
Passes Away This Morning.
Mrs. Jane Kramer, age 75 years, died this morning at an early hour at Walker where she has been making her home for some time with her daughters, Mrs. George Hardy and Mrs. C. E. Griffith. Mrs. Kramer is well known in this city, she and her husband living at one time at Sylvan Lake. She is a member of the local W. R. C. and within its circles was very much loved and respected, her undying love of country, home and friends being attributes of her noble character through life. Her husband, who has passed on through the great valley and shadow of death, was an old soldier and served during the late rebellion.
The remains will be brought to this city tomorrow morning and the funeral service will be held from the First M. E. church at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. James Clulow officiating.
Mrs. Kramer leaves four daughters and three sons to mourn the loss as follows: Mrs. C. E. Griffith and Mrs. George Hardy, Walker; Mrs. B. Bartlett, Hackensack; and Mrs. Carrie Donelow, of St. Paul; Frank and Fred Kramer, of Brainerd, and Chas. Kramer, of Akeley. (Brainerd Dispatch, Friday, 12 December 1902, p. 5, c. 3)
A 4th son, James, who was living with his mother in Walker in 1900, was omitted from the list of survivors.
1850 Enfield, Hartford, Connecticut census (official date August 1) has the family of Fredrick Craymer, 27, b. Germany; Jane Craymer, 22, b. England; George Craymer, 3/12, b. Connecticut. They are with the family of Luke Merriat, 57, b. England. Jane is enumerated as Craymer within the list of Luke's children, implying she is his daughter. Implication that her maiden name is Merriat conflicts with the Hemminway maiden name. Merriat might actually be Marriott.
