Mattie Mae Cheser Foster, 88, died Wednesday, July 6, 2010, at Green Meadows Health Care, Mount Washington, surrounded by family. She was born in Washington County, and was a former employee of Holiday Inn and a farmer. She was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lizzie Armstrong Cheser; five sisters; a brother, and; a daughter-in-law. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Owen Foster; six children, Jacqueline (Doug) Taylor and Carolyn (John) McCubbin, both of Bloomfield, Linda (Ted) Terrell, Finchville, and Sharon (Jeffrey) Glynn, Las Vegas; Lorane Foster. Shepherdsville, and Owen (Sharon) Lloyd Foster, Taylorsville; 12 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Cheser, Mackville.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Garden in Mount Washington. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund. Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
