Edna F. Dennis Blessett, 95, Corydon, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Dec. 2, 1914, in Hart County, Ky., she was the son of the late George T. and Pearl Taylor Dennis.
She worked in the cafeteria at Gordon Foods as a cook and then retired from Floyd Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the laundry room.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Blessett; two sons, Gillium and Gilbert Blessett; a daughter, Precilla Blessett; and two sisters, Buelah Dennis and Leona Kernan.
Survivors include a son, William Blessett Sr. of Lanesville; four daughters, Thelda Thompson of Laconia, Clara Barger of Franklin, Tenn., Patricia Leppert of Louisville and Serena Liebert of Elizabeth; two sisters, Nadine Wilson and Delores Tasman, both of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, July 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday, July 9, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Regina Barger Proctor.
Pallbearers: Nathan Leppert, Stacy Blessett, Justin Fleace, Kevin and Shaun Liebert and Larry Crosier.
