MRS. BENJAMIN F. POUSH
Emma Matilda Fry was born in Linn county, Iowa, on Feb. 27, 1868, and departed this life at her home in Chariton, Iowa, on May 14, 1943, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 17 days. She had been in ill health for some time.
When quite small she came with her parents to the vicinity of Newbern. She continued to live near that place after she was married to Benjamin F. Poush on August 8, 1886. In 1918 they established their home in Chariton. Mr. Poush preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1941.
Mrs. Poush is survived by one son, Harry Poush, of Chariton; four grandchildren, Lt. Loren Poush, somewhere in the service; Mrs. Cleo Trecker and Mrs. Jessie Juntunen, both of Detroit, Mich.; and Carlos Poush, of Des Moines; also five great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
During her long residence here she had won the high regard of all with whom she came in contact by her kind and pleasant manners and her many thoughtful deeds. She had been a member of the Methodist church for many years and had endeavored to follow in the footsteps of her Master.
Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Fred E. Miller, were held Sunday afternoon at the Mrs. Frank Dunshee Funeral Home on North Grand street, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery by the side of her husband.
