He married the former Delores Mae Bergman on Aug. 21, 1944. She died Feb. 23, 2010.
He retired in 1978 from Aeroquip Corp., working out of the Youngstown operation. He was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown in 1938 and served during World War II with the Army.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was formerly a scoutmaster in New Bedford. He was a member of New Bedford Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey Haines Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Volant, with whom he made his home, and Clinton E. Haines and wife Connie of Kingsport, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, William Brown, Donn Brown and Charles Brown; and three sisters, Elizabeth MacIntosh, Martha Plyler and Geraldine Gratton.
Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. The service will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
