Mary Agnes Winkler Felux, a longtime resident of Wilson County, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 12:04 p.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 27 days.

Mary was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Cestohowa in Karnes County, the daughter of William and Theresa Opiela Winkler. She attended Cestohowa schools and worked faithfully in the Harlandale Middle School Cafeteria for many years. Mary married Roman J. Felux on Sept. 10, 1946, in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Cestohowa. Roman, Mary's beloved husband of more than 62 years, preceded her in death on June 19, 2009. Mary was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Theresa Winkler, and her siblings, Anna Moravitz, Pete Winkler, Sylvia Laskowski, and Fred Winkler.

Mary is survived by her son, James Felux of Floresville; her daughter, Diane Felux Akeroyd and husband Joseph of Floresville; her grandchildren, Marissa Akeroyd of San Antonio and Evan Akeroyd of Floresville; her sisters-in-law, Christine Winkler of Cestohowa and Patricia Felux of San Antonio; her brother-in-law, Fabian Felux and wife Dorothy of Elmendorf; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation began at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, officiated by Father Grzegorz Szewczyk, SDS.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Poth. Serving as pallbearers were Evan Akeroyd, Brian Bienek, Brendan Bienek, Greg Felux, Thomas Felux, and Don Hrna.
