David Roy Nichols , 80 went home to be with the lord on Feb. 16 , 2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1928 in Towns County,Ga. to the late David Elisha and Bessie Owens Nichols. He was preceded in death by brothers , Ralph Nichols and Ray Nichols ; sisters , Ora Denton , Lottie Daniel , Mae Rogers and Margie Guffie.
Roy was a WWII Army Veteran, member of Bethel Baptist Church in North Carolina and a retired truck driver of 40 yrs. working with Akers Motor Lines before retiring from Consolidate Freight-ways.
Interment will be Thursday Feb. 19, 2009 in the Tate City Cemetery.
