first married to Laurence WrightJune LaVon Boyd was born on September 24, 1923, in Normal, Illinois.
June peacefully was promoted to glory on December 28, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. June grew up with three sisters and one brother. Her hobbies included raising her children, crocheting, sewing and raising African Violets. More than anything she loved Bible study. A long-time Salvationist, June served as the Home League secretary at The Salvation Army for many years.
June was preceded in death by her two children, Roger Wright and Tamara Avritt and son-in-law, Travis Williams.
June is survived by children, Lotus Williams, Barbara Lueras and her husband, Ernest, Kathy Lovell and her husband, Adrian and in-laws Regina Wright and Bill Arvitt. June is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family of June would like to thank the hardworking staff at St. Theresa Healthcare and Hospice of the Sandias for their compassionate love and care.
A funeral service for June Boyd will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Albuquerque Citadel officiated by grandson, Captain Bob Lueras. Viewing will be held before the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The family also requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be make to The Salvation Army of Albuquerque Citadel at 4301 Bryn Mawr Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
