Erna Jeske Bellin (nee Gierach)
Erna Jeske Bellin (nee Gierach) of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Lasata Care Center at the age of 90.
Erna was born in Port Washington on April 12, 1919 to Edwin and Ida (nee Schmidt) Gierach, who had preceded her in death. She married Herbert Bellin on June 29, 1940 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt. He preceded her in death.
Erna was a longtime active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Ladies Aid & Choir and also the Milwaukee Lutheran High School Guild. She was a member of the Mequon Woman's Club and was the queen of the Thiensville Farmers Market.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Bonnee) Bellin of Sheboygan, Edward (Judy) Bellin of Cortland, Ohio, Barbara (Bernard) Strouth of Boise, Idaho, and Kathleen (John) Misany of Waukesha; one brother, Palmer (Edna) Gierach of Germantown, two sisters, Milita Bellin of Grafton and Alice (Louis) Scheunemann of Cedarburg. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Anthony Jeske, and one grandson, Brian.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt. Interment church cemetery. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
