Alice was born on November 1, 1927, in Port Washington, the daughter of the late Edwin and the late Ida Gierach. Alice was raised on their family farm on Bonniwell Road in Mequon. She attended Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and School in Freistadt, and later graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School.
Alice was united in marriage to Louis Scheunemann, on November 17, 1951, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Freistadt.
Together their marriage was blessed with three children, Eugene, Christine, and Jeffrey. Louis and Alice raised their children on the family farm, in the Town of Jackson, teaching them the value of hard work. Together they worked side by side on the farm, tending to the dairy cows as well as harvesting potatoes.
Alice was a longtime active member at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, on Pleasant Valley Road, where she sang in the mixed choir and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She will be greatly missed, as she was a shining example to her many family friends on how to live by the golden rule.
Alice is survived by her children: Gene Scheunemann, Chris (Mark) Flitsch and Jeff Scheunemann; seven
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Melita Bellin; and sister-in-law, Edna Gierach; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Alice was preceded in death her beloved husband, Louis Scheunemann, back in February of 2018; and two siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020, 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1268 Pleasant Valley Road, West Bend.
